Look at those beautiful Gleeks! I know this is from last year and has already been posted but I wanted to take a moment to let you guys all know that Art4Life is happening again this year for the FOURTH YEAR running and I’m so proud of Gina and her little show that could.
Art4Life is an event run every year in co-operation with the Arcadia Relay for Life to raise money for the American Cancer society in memory of those we’ve loved and lost and inspired by my dear friend Gina Starbuck and her own personal loss. Every year has gotten bigger and bigger and every show has gotten more and more amazing. A4L’s inaugural run featured Emcees Michael Urie (Ugly Betty) and Carol Kane (Hollywood and Broadway legend!). A4L2 featured a pre-Idol performance by 2009 runner-up Adam Lambert and smash recording artist Ferras, A4L3 featured antics from GLEE hosts Chris Colfer (Kurt), Amber Riley (Mercedes), and Dianna Agron (Quinn), and performances by rising stars Francia Raisa (Secret Life) and Bonnie McKee.
This year already has some amazing talent including GLEE’s Amber Riley returning to host alongside co-star Heather Morris (Brittany) and performances scheduled by up and coming recording artist Mateo, comedian Ryan Hill (for the fourth year running, he’s hilarious, don’t miss it) and dance groups Tokyo and Karmagraphy! Check it out it’s only $10 in advance, $15 at the door, held in Level 3 at Hollywood and Highland May 31, 2010. Can’t wait to see you there (I haven’t missed one yet!) On topic of cameras, I just wanted to put it out there that I have one of my camera bodies up on Craigslist if anyone is looking for a Canon 30D body out there. Body, body cap and battery for $450. If you’re interested drop me an email.
Also, if you’re interested in purchasing prints from me PLEASE check out my Smug Mug shop at developedbyjackie.smugmug.com and pick up some prints. All of my travel shots are up, all of my Hey Monday promos are up and concert images are available for MOST shows by request (tell me the show, the band, the page of the gallery and the number of the image 1-9 right to left, top to bottom). Help a girl out, if you can! Also please reblog this if you can and help me get the word out!!
THANKS!!
The Material launched their new MySpace today featuring a handful of pictures from my two sets with them! Check them out and make sure to vote for them for Ernie Ball on the lefthand side!
Of course, the reason we made our pilgrimage to Simi in the first place was to see these amazing guys and gal up on stage, so without any further ado… The Material’s headlining show at 118 West in Simi Valley! If you get the chance please go vote for them in the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands!!

Had another great opportunity to shoot The Material this past weekend in Simi Valley. We met up before their headliner at 118 West and Jon and I did some exploring and found a great shooting space in their recording studio in the Attic, so we gathered the band and did some quickie, stripped down, promo shots. Then I got some good candids of them with fans and doing their set up for their performance. I also got one before and one after of the band with Noah as we bade him farewell and happy trails this weekend. Check them out and let me know what you think!

THE MATERIAL
:D Do it! These guys are amazing and deserve it! (Three cheers for my picture, too! :D)
Last week thanks to drum tech of awesome, Yoshi, I had the great chance to shoot the Take Action tour in Anaheim at the House of Blues. The show was amazing but sadly due to list snafus I missed Stereo Skyline—can’t wait to catch back up with these boys and get more good pics. But I made it just in time for There for Tomorrow’s set and the rest of the show, I even got to spend some time chatting with the amazing women at the National Marrow Donor Program that was there representing the Drive for Donors for the night. It was a great night with fantastic performances from all the bands and great hangs with all my Anaheim friends and of course, Yoshi. Enjoy the pics!!

Here’s a few of what I consider artistic images from the Take Action tour show at the House of Blues in Anaheim… Some cool artsy shots to be followed by the galleries and show write up!
Back in October I had the wonderful opportunity to shoot two of the OP tour shows, one for myself and one for Friends or Enemies. The show in LA was the one I shot for friends or enemies and with a busy November and December behind us, the pictures are finally up on FOE so here they are! It was great getting to shoot all of these bands again and none of them failed to deliver. It was also a blast at the show getting to hang out with all the bands and talk shop with a few of them. Pete Wentz made a special guest appearance with Cobra Starship for “Pete Wentz is the Only Reason We’re Famous” during the photographers’ pit time, which was a blast, as always. Enjoy and let me know what you think! Also, don’t forget all of these can be requested for prints and bands if you want to use any of these, feel free to shoot me an email here!
